Random video chat on your phone
You do not need a separate app store install for the basic flow. The phone browser can open a private 1-on-1 — if camera and mic are allowed, and the network can hold video.
Open the site, not a random APK
On GoChatCam, the path is: open gochatcam.com in Safari or Chrome, allow camera and microphone when the browser asks, then start. If a stranger on a call tells you the website is “old” and you must install something else, leave. That is a common scam pattern, not a product update.
Website versus install is explained longer in browser video chat vs an app. The full session — private room, skip, picture quality — is the random video chat guide.
Fix camera before you blame the product
Phones remember a previous “Block” decision. If the other person sees a black tile, check the lock icon in the address bar and turn camera / mic back on. Hold the phone in ordinary light facing you, not with a bright window behind your head. Cover the lens with a finger and you will look like a frozen square — the other side will skip, and that is fair.
Wi-Fi, data, and when to next
Video follows bandwidth. Weak mobile data makes faces soft or stalled. Prefer Wi-Fi when you can. If the picture freezes for more than a few seconds, skip and rematch instead of waiting in a broken call. Skip etiquette is covered in skip / next on video chat.
If you want a faster start, try free 1on1 chat in your browser on GoChatCam. Prefer camera-on matching? Open 1v1 video chat or a random video chat — a private 1-on-1 video chat stays two people. Skip anytime.
